Connecting a Service to Gatekeeper

Before your agent can take any action in a tool, that tool needs to be connected to Gatekeeper. Connecting a service establishes a secure link and defines exactly what permissions your agent is granted — Gatekeeper never stores your actual login credentials.

Steps to connect a service

  1. Go to Services in your Gatekeeper dashboard.
  2. Find the service you want to connect (e.g. HubSpot, GitHub, Slack, AWS) and click Connect.
  3. You'll be redirected to that service's own login page. Log in with your usual credentials — Gatekeeper never sees or stores your password.
  4. You'll see a list of requestable scopes — these are the specific permissions being asked for (e.g. "read contacts," "write to calendar," "read repository code"). Review these carefully.
  5. Approve only the scopes your agent actually needs. You can always add more later if requirements change.
  6. Once approved, the service will show as Connected in your dashboard, along with how many tools are enabled for it.

Managing an existing connection

  • To change permissions: disconnect and reconnect the service, selecting the updated scopes you want.
  • To disconnect a service: go to Services, select the connected service, and choose Disconnect. This immediately revokes all agent access to that tool.
  • To check connection status: the Services page always shows whether a service is connected, disconnected, or needs reauthentication.

A note on scopes

Only grant the minimum permissions your agent needs to do its job. If your agent only needs to read data, don't approve write or delete scopes. You can tighten or loosen this at any time — it doesn't require support intervention.
