How to Recover Your Backup

This article covers how to initiate a recovery in Station70, regardless of which wallet provider you use. If you're recovering a Fireblocks or Fordefi wallet specifically, finish the steps here first, then move to that provider's dedicated recovery tool.

Step 1: Choose Your Recovery Method

You have two options:

  • Entire Workspace Recovery — Restores all keys in your Bunker. Requires your DRS passphrase and a smartphone for authentication.
  • Mobile Key Share Recovery — A text-file-based recovery method, designed for situations where a smartphone isn't available.

Choose whichever fits your situation.

The Mobile Key Share is only available for Fireblocks backups.

Step 2: Choose Your Download Type

Station70 currently supports Local Download and Secure Wallet Transfer. Select Secure Wallet Transfer only if you are wanting to transfer your backup to your Standby Wallet. Learn more about SWAT.

Step 3: Initiate the Recovery

  1. Review the summary that appears
  2. Click Initiate Recovery
  3. Verify with your YubiKey when prompted

Your request will now show as pending in the Recovery tab.

Step 4: Get Approval from Your Team

The designated recovery policy user(s) will need to log in and approve the request — they can find it on their Overview page or in the Backup page. To approve, they:

  1. Click Approve
  2. Verify their identity with their YubiKey

Step 5: Download Your Backup

Once all required approvals are in, Station70 will approve the recovery and a download button will appear in the Recoveries tab. Verify with your YubiKey one more time, and your backup package will begin downloading.
