How to Request Your Fordefi Backup
Here's how to get your Fordefi backup requested, delivered, and secured with Station70.
Before You Start
Every member on your account needs to have registered their device (see Registering Your Authentication Device) before we can generate your backup keys. Once everyone's registered, let us know — we'll validate it and send you an automated email with the key details you'll need to set up your workspace and backup.
Step 1: Set Up Your Vault in Fordefi
- Obtain Backup Email from Station70
- Log in to Fordefi
- Go to Settings > Backups
- Select Public Key and upload the PEM file from the email Station70 sent you
- In the Backup email from Station70, copy the backup email from that same email into the email field
Note: Failure to use the backup email that Station70 provides you, will result in your backup not be sent over
Step 2: Initiate and Approve the Backup
- Select Initiate Backup Process — the page will show a pending status
- Your Fordefi admin will get a notification in the Fordefi app to approve the request
Info: If your Fordefi account has no assets in it, then no backup will be sent over. As you add assets to your Fordefi account, Station70 will receive an updated file of your backup material.
Step 3: Enroll Your Backup
Once approved, the backup will appear in your Station70 account as an Action Card. Select it and enroll to complete your onboarding. For additional information, head over to How to Enroll your Backup.
